MEG HEBERT holds a BFA in dance from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. In March of 2007, she founded Meg Hebert Dance as Artistic Director. Her role in this company of movers and collaborators is, 'organizer.' Meg is the puzzle solver for the creation of dancer-generated movements. She was the 2006 recipient of the Marjorie Turner Choreography Prize for Artistic Excellence. Her work has been produced at Triskelion Arts in 2007, and shown at Dance New Amsterdam Works-In-Progress 2005, DUMBO 2007, and Bridge for Dance 2008. She has performed for John Evans and Dancers. Meg is a current New Jersey resident yet a "Live Free or Die" New Hampshirian in spirit.




REHEARSAL DIRECTOR:

    DANA PRIETO graduated from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University of New Jersey in 2007. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with honors in Dance and has performed with various artists within various venues. While at MGSA she was a company member of the touring University Danceworks. Dana has learned the works of Bill T. Jones, Trisha Brown, Randy James, Julia Ritter, Kimani Fowlin, and John Evans. She has performed at NJPAC and Dance Theater Workshop. Dana is excited to be pursuing a career as a dance artist.





MOVERS:

    XAN BURLEY, a native Ohioan, graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2007 with a BFA in Dance and a BA in English. While there, she had the splendid opportunity to work with choreographers Alexandra Beller, Amy Chavasse, Gay Delanghe, Peter Sparling, Leyya Tawil, and Doug Varone. Currently she resides in Queens, is the associate producer of Williamsburg Art NeXus, and has performed for the delightful Shannon Hummel. Xan is stoked to be a new part of Meg Hebert Dance!





    CHELSEY DUNKEL is from Punxsutawney, PA and is currently residing in Brooklyn, NY. In 2007, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a focus in dance performance from The Ohio State University, where she feels privileged to have worked with Bebe Miller, Susan Hadley, Kathleen Hermesdorf, Adriana Durant, Patrick Mueller and others. In Columbus, she was a founding member of Aaron Kint's Backspace, and a member of Shawn Hove's Gently Shoved. Chelsey is excited to be working with Meg Hebert Dance, and is looking forward to indulging in the superfluous creative energy radiating from those with whom she has been given a chance to work.




    CARMEN EPSTEIN, a native of New York City, graduated from Rutgers University in 2004 with a BA in Modern Dance. She is thrilled to be working with Meg Hebert Dance and would like to thank the group for reviving her love of this unique form. Carmen currently enjoys her work as a teacher, playing firday night soccer, playing poker (any night) and occasionally running the NYC marathon.





    SARA MURPHY is from northern Vermont and graduated summa cum laude with a BFA degree from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. There she performed works by Trisha Brown, John Evans, Christian von Howard, Randy James, Bill T. Jones, and Julia Ritter. She was awarded the Dance Express Choreographer’s Prize by the dance department faculty. Professionally, she has worked with H.T Chen and Dancers and Julia Ritter Performance Group.





    KEELEY WALSH, a native from The Heartland, started dancing to the beats of “The Rhythm Is Going Get You,” with a Karaoke mike at age 4. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Dance and Journalism. While there, Keeley worked with choreographers such as Alan Sener, Armando Duarte, Tom Truss and Mo Miner. While in Chicago for 2006, she had the pleasure of training with Molly Shanahan who greatly influenced her philosophy on moving and choreography; create the most movement options possible. New to NYC, she is delving into classes and auditions and is ecstatic to be performing with Meg Hebert Dance.





PAST MOVERS:

    AARON RAMOS is from Randolph, New Jersey. He graduated with high academic honors from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. While at Mason Gross, he has worked with choreographers Julia Ritter, John Evans, Christian von Howard, and Randy James. He was a member of the touring dance company, University DanceWorks, for two years and has performed in a work by choreographer Bill T. Jones. He has recently performed with Randy James DanceWorks and is currently working with Christian von Howard with the Von Howard Project.





    CHRISTINE SAMPSON is from Swedesboro, NJ. At age 3 she began training with Rosina Wright. Christine later studied with David Kloss, Norman Taylor, Althea Leslie, and Dale Schmid while attending Southern New Jersey Academy of Performing Arts. She is a BFA Dance graduate of Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. In 2002, she performed Blue Honey Sky at The Cool New York Festival. She has performed Doug Varone's, Bench Quartet. During the 2006-07 season, Christine danced with the NJ Nets Dance Team. Currently, she continues to pursue dance and acting by touring for Ditty Doodle Works Live Tour.

    AMANDA BARRETT is an interdisciplinary artist with a focus in new media. A recent BFA graduate from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, Meg Hebert Dance is her first excursion into the performing arts. Her contributions to the company include video art, audio arrangement, and web development.
    Creative focuses include object worship, personal codes of sanctity, transit, and trade.
